From a young age, I enjoyed fishing with my friends. My expectation was always to capture the “size”, which never happened. It was as if I could never choose the right bait for the dam / river, and by the time the fish bit I had to go home. Only when I got older did I learn that fishing requires patience and endurance. What I mean by this is ask around when you go fishing at a new pond, eg: How deep is the Dam/River, what does the fish bite at, where is the best place to sit, what big fish have been caught, what is the best times to catch, how deep to fish, etc. This information will be available to you at most angling shops in town. Now that you’ve done a little “homework”, plan on how to go about your fishing trip.

Catching small (under 2kg) fish is NO art, you can do it with a handline and an earthworm.! I’m talking about fishing about 2kg, 5kg, 8kg, 10 + kg, 95% of the time you go to the water! I first start counting fish from 2kg. As of 2003, my average fish is about 5.5kg which I personally catch. I also get 8kg, 10kg, 12kg fish in between and some 3kg but if you take the average it is about 5.5kg.
